About the Company

COMPANY

The CEPC has long-term contracts for passenger service in Moscow, Moscow, Ryazan, Kaluga, and Vladimir regions.

The company’s share of Russian suburban rail transport is 63,7%.

CEPC is responsible for 91,4% of all suburban passenger traffic using the Moscow Transport Hub.

The Moscow Transport Hub accounts for 97,9% of the total passenger traffic.

Number of suburban electric trains in operation: 1377.5 pairs on weekdays; 1223 pairs on weekends. In this number, the amount of fast trains: 154.1 pairs on weekdays, 72.5 on weekends.

The company operates more than 500 units of rolling stock (electric trains, rail cars, rail buses, diesel-trains), of which more than 60 are the company’s own.

A major step forward in providing passengers with modern and mobile methods of paying for travel was completed in 2013, when a joint project of the Central Exurban Passenger Company, Visa and TransCreditBank was launched to begin accepting cards with Visa Pay Wave contactless technology in Moscow’s suburban ticket offices.

Thanks to the introduction of new technology, passengers can now purchase tickets for suburban trains by bank transfer, and save time when buying travel documents.

From September 2013 onward, it is possible to include CEPC subscription passes on a Troika transit card. From August 2014, single-use tickets as well. From April 2015, passengers can use CEPC cashiers and ticketing machines to replenish the balance of their «Koshelyok» tickets and «Troika» cards, as well as purchase transport services on the Moscow Metro and for Moscow ground transportation (Mosgortrans).

These new opportunities have been shown to be attractive to passengers who purchase tickets without assistance, as they can now use a single travel document for all modes of transport.

The expansion of the company’s range of services is in an active development and implementation phase. With this in mind, the company still keeps its existing offers available. For example, free bicycle transportation from 11.00 to 16.00 and from 21.00 to 6.00.

In 2016, passengers were pleased with another innovation which was well-received by users of the company’s most popular subscriptions: no longer do passengers need to regularly purchase single-use tickets for bicycles; they just need to add «veloption» to their existing passes.

Also for the convenience of passengers of the new Zhukovsky airport, the company organized transfers from the airport to the «Otdykh» station stop. The bus departure time is tied to flights at the airport, and the shuttle ticket can be purchased at the suburban ticket offices along with a ticket for the train. Now, thanks to this, the journey time from the airport to the city center takes about an hour.

Now, throughout the CEPC service territory, there are ABP-09M3 printing machines, which are much improved over previous models due to their multi-functionality. In addition to single-use tickets, passengers can purchase travel subscription passes, multi-trip tickets, and cash-free tickets for social cards. At the moment, more than 1500 ticketing machines have been installed in the Company’s service territory.

As of July 15, 2014 the Company has optimized its list of tariffs. As a result of these changes, the tariff list was simplified, and the number of passes was reduced to ten types. No less important is the fact that the new tariff list offers an improved discount system aimed at reducing the prices paid by «long-distance» passengers.

Now, most passengers have the opportunity to significantly reduce their cost of travel. Previously, the discount for different types of subscriptions was fixed at the level of 10% of the cost of a single-use ticket and did not depend on the distance traveled. Now, for a number of subscription plans, there is a dynamic discount: when traveling three zones, the discount will be up to 13%; five zones, up to 25%; seven, up to 30%, and so on. By the eighth and ninth zones, passengers will be able to save up to half of their travel expenses, depending on the type and duration of the purchased pass.

Currently, in Moscow and the Moscow region, the following types of subscription passes operate: Special offers, such as Greater Moscow for all routes, Megapolis Plus, and City Next Door on the Kazan and Kiev routes. The multi-trip pass for 10, 20 or 60 trips, the Workday pass for 1 and 3 months, the Weekend pass for 1 month, as well as the Daily pass for 10 days, 1, 3 and 12 months.

For students, an individual plastic card (IPC) is issued. Students who have a Muscovite Social Card can register their student subscription on the card at any suburban CEPC ticket office located in a railway station or at a station stop in Moscow.

In the absence of a social card, the Company offers students special individual plastic cards (IPC) for travel on its suburban trains. You can register your IPC on the website наэлектричке.рф, where you will find complete information about the service. On the site, it is necessary to fill out an application, attach a photo, wait for an SMS-notification about the card’s status, and then you can pick it up at a suburban cash desk. When you go to get your card, make sure you have with you a printed application, your passport, a student ID card and an original document from your place of study as proof of enrollment.

The Situational and Analytical Center is a software and hardware complex that will accumulate statistical information on passenger traffic: the volume of passenger traffic at one or another station stop, times of maximum and minimum passenger traffic, and an accounting of transfers to other types of public transport. Collection and analysis of this data allows for quick management decisions (opening additional cash windows, installing ticketing machines, etc.).

The main goal of the Center is to ensure the execution of the suburban complex’s technological processes, to ensure safety and a worry-free transportation process, as well as to make sure that that our transport services meet the quality standard expected by our passengers. The Situational and Analytical Center allows the Company to effectively manage the technological process of passenger service, identify extraordinary situations, provide coordination during identified incidents, and develop recommendations for solving problems and improving the efficiency and quality of the services it provides.
