There are some Bugs that can happen with the Kalypso Launcher that prevent you from playing the Game.
The Launcher is often buggy, sometimes it says the key is already in use (if you buyed the game recently) or you simple cant create an Account.
Here is a Method to fix this and some other bugs. It works with a Windows-File thats called hosts.
With the File you can block IP-Adresses and Websites.
We will block the Website that the Kalyspo Launcher connects to, so we can bypass the Launcher.
First you go to your Windows-Folder in the following path:
(Yours should be similar, just go to your Local Drive, also im German, so the Path is in German Language)
The file you need is the marked hosts.
Now open the hosts File with an Text-Editor of your choice. (Simple Rightclick and choose open with)
It Now will look like this:
(It can be different, ive you have already blocked other Ip-Adresses)
Now just copy and Paste the following line into your hosts File:
You Now should be able to start the game without the Launcher and it will work without that you have to login.

Nothing except that you get the chance to see their promotional offer and all new release and that you have to wait in my case 3 days before the activation was completed after i bought and installed the game.
It’s totally something you need in all game, i wonder why there is not more company that add a 3rd party DRM, i enjoy those so much, i wonder what would be my gaming experience without those.

Yeah, it must have been changed. I’ve played a few times now and did my first multiplayer last night. I just click «skip» and there’s a «Play Tropico 5» button.
But I had no idea if I was losing functionality by playing the game without logging in.

I just bought the game and after installing, it wants me to log into the kalypso launcher.
Is there a way to play the game without register? I really, REALLY do not wan’t to register on another platform..
I just don’t want to create another account on another platform. Steam/Origin/rockstar/uPlay are already at least three to much. Every bigger company seem to make its own bad copy of it.
I got a solution, which is annoying but works. If I disconnect from my network while starting the game, it launches the game itself instead of the launcher.
I mean, I really have no issue if they even deliver their games with its launcher. But they force you to use it and that’s what bothers me.

How do I receive my Kalypso Community voucher?
If you already have registered an account via the Kalypso Game Launcher, you may just log in with your existing email address and passwort and complete your account registration. If you do not have an existing account, please sign up for a new account on the Kalypso Shop. Please be sure to subscribe to the newsletter via the registration form or your account management, afterwards.
After your subscription has been completed and was confirmed via email, you will receive your voucher code in a second email. If you didn’t receive an email (please also check your spam folder), please contact our customer support through the support form or via email to support@kalypsomedia.com.
How do I redeem my voucher?
Please proceed as follows:
1) Add your chosen product(s) to your shopping cart
2) Click on the cart symbol in the top-right corner, and then on «Redeem voucher» in the side bar
3) Redeem your voucher code under «I have a voucher«.

With the Catalina update, support for 32-bit software has been discontinued for MacOS on a system-wide basis. Once the Catalina update is installed, these titles will no longer run.
If you own a 32-bit game and wish to continue playing after the release of macOS 10.15 Catalina, you can install macOS Mojave, or another earlier version. This can be done either by not upgrading your operating system, or by installing a hard disk partition with an installation of macOS 10.14 Mojave or another earlier version (please refer to Apple’s Disk Utility User Guide for more information).
You can change the current email address linked to your Kalypso Community Account at any time – either by changing it yourself in your account settings (1) or by contacting our support team (2). Please see below for further instructions:
(1) Log in with your current email address and password via https://www.kalypsomedia.com/account/profile. You can then change your email address by clicking on «profile settings».
