По оценкам ООН в год совершается в мире порядка 5 тысяч так называемых «убийств чести». Но представители правозащитных организаций говорят, что эта цифра занижена и на самом деле их происходит в 5 раз больше.
В ХХI веке с одной стороны мир как-то тревожно «демократизируется», легализуя однополые браки. А с другой стороны еще более тревожно дичает, все шире распространяя страшную форму патриархата и родовых отношений – «убийства чести». Традиционно считается, что расправы над женщинами, которые устраивают их же родственники по мотивам «спасения семейной чести», — это пережиток прошлого, сохраняемый курдами в Ираке и Турции и палестинцами в Иордании. Но подобные преступления уже давно стали обычным явлением во многих мусульманских странах: Пакистане, Марокко, Египте. И все чаще практикуются в Великобритании, Бельгии, России, Канаде и многих других государствах Европы, Северной и Южной Америки. Причем этот дикий обычай используют не только мусульмане, но и христианские, и индуистские общины. И жертвами его становятся не только женщины, но мужчины и дети. И особенно дико, что для защиты чести семьи родственники выбирают какие-то садистские способы для расправы с своими близкими. Им отрубают головы, их сжигают, побивают камнями, режут, убивают электротоком и хоронят заживо.
Больше всего убийств чести – порядка тысячи в год совершается в Пакистане. Там они называются «Каро-Кари», что означает в переводе с языков урду и синдхи – «Черный мужчина»-«Черная женщина». К цвету кожи эти эвфемизмы не имеют никакого отношения. Условно из можно трактовать: «Развратник»-«Развратница». Только почему-то убивают в этой паре только развратниц. Причем их возраст не имеет значения. Из 913 женщин, убитых в 2012 году в Пакистане за нарушение неких моральных устоев, 99 были несовершеннолетними.
Складывается впечатление, что в этой стране совершаются самые массовые и самые изощренные убийства чести. Так в городе Дахарки родственники расправились с женщиной в момент, когда она рожала своего второго ребенка. Прежде чем зарубить ее топором, ей отрубили уши и губы. Ее обезображенное тело нашли в оросительной канаве. Рядом с ней лежал труп ее первенца, а тело новорожденного оставалось в матке, хотя голова ребенка уже торчала наружу.
А в провинции Белуджистан во имя чести расправились сразу с пятью женщинами. С тремя несовершеннолетними девушками, которые отказались выходить замуж по указке соплеменников, и с двумя взрослыми женщинами, которые пытались их защитить. Всех пятерых вывезли в пустыню, где сначала волокли на тросах за машинами, а потом расстреляли и сбросили в канаву.
Причем в Индии жениться по любви не могут не только молодые люди, но и пожилые вдовцы. 56-летнего Карнейла Сингха из деревни Саллапур отправили на тот свет трое собственных сыновей после того, как он после смерти супруги задумал вновь жениться.
В последнее время «убийства чести» приобрели массовый характер в Европе. В Великобритании, так гордящейся своими старыми традициями, похоже, благодаря эмигрантам начали зарождаться новые традиции. Недавно организация по защите прав иранских и курдских женщин направила запросы в 52 британские отделения полиции. Ответы поступили только из 39 участков, но и на основании полученных данных статистика расправ над «порочащими семью» женщинами получилась весьма тревожной — 2 тысячи 823 случая. Причем подобные расправы в Англии совершаются не только иранцами и курдами. Так, пакистанец Мохамед Риаз сжег заживо жену и четверых детей за их западные привычки и сам вскоре скончался от ожогов.
С европейской точки зрения, считающейся цивилизованной, родственники убивают своих дочерей и сестер вообще ни за что. В Афганистане муж и мать убили 25-летнюю поэтессу Надию Анжуман всего лишь за лирические стихи о любви. Родственники видите ли усмотрели среди строчек, написанных в жанре древней персидско-арабской поэзии – газал, некое распутство.
18 мая 2005 года в Кабуле была убита телеведущая популярной молодежной музыкальной передачи «Нор» 24-летняя Шайма Резайи. Ее близкие решили, что развлекательная передача порочит девичью честь.
В Великобритании родители-пакистанцы, услышав по радио песню про любовь, которую какой-то парень заказал для их дочери, решили, что теперь их чадо страшно опорочило честь семьи. Правда, сами марать руки убийством не стали, а поступили хитро. Отправили дочку в Пакистан, а по ее следам направили наемного убийцу.
В турецкой провинции Адыяман, в городе Кахта на семейном совете решили расправиться с 16-летней Медин Меми просто потому, что она общается с парнями. После этого отец, мать и дед набросились на бедняжку Медин, избили ее, связали руки и заживо погребли в двухметровой яме, вырытой в курятнике рядом с отчим домом.
Убийства чести порой практикует и мафия. В 2013 году 24-летний Джованни Морабито по прозвищу «Ринго», недрогнувшей рукой произвел четыре выстрела из пистолета в лицо родной сестры Брунее. А на допросе в полиции заявил:
