@Tati801 «cave in» and «give in» are the same. But you can say «cave in to their demands» or just «cave to their demands.»
«cave (in)» has a more negative feeling while «give in» is more neutral.
@Tati801
Give up – to stop doing something. To not finish a task.
Give in – to admit defeat in a contest.
Sometimes you can use them interchangeably; sometimes, one of them is more appropriate than the other
@Tati801
Right, cave could be used in place of either give up or give in. It depends on the context.
«give up» means that you’re not going to try anymore.
«give in» means that you will stop arguing or resisting and do what someone else wants you to do.
@Tati801
To cave – for some reason, this is how it is commonly said in America. It’s not wrong to use either form. I don’t really use this expression, so I don’t have a preference.
