If the problem persists then run the other exe. Thereafter, the calculator restarts by itself, do not be scared. After the restart check again if the sound goes.

If the problem persists, contact me again. Have a last option but I have to upload somewhere first.

Well.. that german guy I contacted write me back almost the same thing:

Well the german support seems to be a little better then. Well i spend some time with them on the phone and they even had to ask the engeniers in Taiwan becuse of the problem. At the end and after a very long telephonecall we had my solution.

Download this file download.gigabyte.eu/FileList. B19.0517.1.zip ans start the ECFwUpdate.exe. Restart the system directly. After the resatrt the EXE will automaticly start. Check the sound after that.

If this does not help:

Restart again, start the IFU_XE32_v1310.exe in the Zip you downloaded and flash. The System starts automaticly new, dont be suprised. After restart check the sound.

If even this doenst help (like in my case):

Write me back, i’ll have to upload a zip with an other ROM for the mainboard that worked for me

But, this file is the same as the one on gigabyte motherboard web site, the same file that made my sound stop working. Since I have already fixed it by using the firmware that I wrote some posts back, I’ll ask for his other file just for comparing.

I just asked the same question in a earlier posting and no one apparently has a clue.They put out F40 then days later said you had to install this vague software before you did the bios update to avoid some problem if you use 4 dimms.

Yes I also got a black screen and a reboot, and so no idea what it did.

After using EC FW Update Tool I started to have some problems (x470 Gaming 7):

1) My mouse (EVGA Torq X5) eventually is not recognized on cold boot, I have to unplug it an plug it again to works (USB).

2) My onboard sound is not working, actually I can hear the sound really really really low, almost inaudible.. tested with Backup Bios, fresh windows install, drivers and etc, no lucky..

never had any of this problems BEFORE using EC FW TOOL UTILITY.

EDIT: just a note, F8 bios gives me ’24’ Debug LED Code after a successful boot (it was always like that). F41a gives me ‘AA’.

Just did another test with Linux, Fresh Windows install, fresh drivers, F8 Bios and F41a Bios. It seems that after using EC FW TOOL something happened with my rear sound out (green plug).. if I plug my headphones into BLUE Plug and remap it as a Speaker Out, it works! But Green Plug was working fine until I used EC FW TOOL.

Mouse bug stills the same. 90% of a cold boot it works fine, 10% it is not recognized and I have to unplug it and plug it again.

This is where I’m also now sitting. Barely functioning audio and USB I/O. This is unacceptable I’ve tried updating to F40 and back down to several older BIOS and nothing has fixed the problem.

Installing the «ECFW Update» forced my PC to reboot with no warning message and caused these problems arterwards.

Attempting to rerun the «EC Update» and I get the message «You do not need to update firmware.»

Can Gigabyte please offer us an older version of the firmware to reinstall instead of this garbage?

My system is running like garbage right now.

I sent a message to tech support today explaining the issues with the bios and the patch. Hopefully we will hear something back soon. I also ask them what the proper process is for running the patch. Not sure if we should have flashed back to an older bios prior to running the patch or not.

I have had this audio issue on my gaming 7 in the past and its been reported before, but in the past a reboot would almost always get the audio working again. Now it seems to be a permanent issue after the patch. If you have the option you can still use the optical output or the front panel header. The other option might be to use the control panel to route the audio through a different port on the back, but I have not tried that yet. I was on my computer for about 6 hours today and didn’t notice an issue with usb yet. For the record I am on f40a, so that may be why I dont have the usb issues.

I will NOT be able to overlook my onboard audio being permanently borked, however. The high-quality (relatively speaking) onboard audio was specifically one of the reasons I selected this board (alongside the very beefy VRM+Heatsink setup).

So based on this «Update» directly causing the «extremely low volume audio» issue, I think it’s fair to say that the issue has been due to the embedded controller all along.

GIGABYTE Firmware Update Utility — что это за программа?

Фирменное приложение для обновления BIOS.

В интернете об этой утилите почти ничего нет, никакой информации, будто ее вообще не существует.

Судя по этому скриншоту, возможно утилита существовала, но давно:

Вообще такое оформление среди фирменных программ часто присутствовало во времена Windows XP.

Также нашел такую картинку, по которой можно сделать вывод — приложение существует и видимо способно обновить BIOS из Windows, а после обновления, через 5 секунд выполняет перезагрузку для завершения операции:

Возможно информации о приложении нет совсем, потому что его не так просто скачать. Его можно загрузить через программу Gigabyte APP Center, при помощи которой можно скачать/обновить драйвера, установить популярный софт а также установить новую версию BIOS. Так вот установка BIOS и выполняется при помощи загрузки специальной утилиты из APP Center:

Напротив описание, где сказано — вы можете использовать данную утилиту для восстановления биоса, когда он вышел из строя. Возможно такое описание показывается когда нет новее версии биоса, чем стоит у вас. При наличии новой версии может быть написать что при помощи данной утилиты можно обновить биос. Просто то, что утилита для обновления — сказано еще в самом названии. Также можете заметить здесь BIOS Setup — утилита предоставляет информацию о материнской плате и версии биос, также при помощи нее можно изменить некоторые настройки биоса.

Как обновить BIOS Gigabyte через Q-Flash

Актуальная версия BIOS позволяет материнской плате полноценно выполнять свои функции в ногу с нововведениями. Как правило, производители материнских плат рекомендуют обновление биос, Gigabyte же наоборот, просит не обновлять микрокод, если он работает без ошибок и справляется с запросами пользователя.

В статье я расскажу, как установить обновление BIOS загрузкой с флешки через Q-Flash. Отмечу, что прошить может любой уверенный пользователь, главное соблюдать пошаговую инструкцию.

Шаг 1. Для начала необходимо войти в биос, чтобы посмотреть версию вашей микропрограммы, запоминаем. Далее лучше выйти и выключить компьютер с помощью выключателя на блоке питании.

Шаг 2. Откройте левую боковую крышку и выпишите модель материнской платы в плоть до ревизии, например GA-H110M-S2.

Шаг 5. В списке загрузок разверните категорию BIOS, выберите любую версию прошивки, рекомендую скачать последнюю (не скачивайте beta-версии). Напротив каждой версии биос в описании вы можете прочитать какие присутствуют изменения (дополнения).

Шаг 6. Распакуйте скачанный архив.

Скопируйте файлы на отформатированную флешку, на самом деле достаточно перенести только один файл с названием материнской платы и версией биос, в нашем примере это «GA-H110M-S2.F24». USB-носитель оставляем подключенным к ПК, на котором требуется прошить микрокод.

Шаг 7. Перезагрузите компьютер, войдите в BIOS, найдите утилиту Q-Flash.

Если ее там нет, перезагрузите ПК, при запуске нажмите несколько раз на клавиатуре клавишу End или F8 в зависимости от версии вашей микропрограммы, чтобы войти в Q-Flash.

Шаг 8. Здесь есть две опции:

Выберите первое – обновление BIOS для платы Gigabyte.

Пойдет процесс обновления, ничего не нажимайте, компьютер перезагрузится, затем еще раз с полным выключением, дожидаемся окончания загрузки Windows.

Не прерывайте процедуру установки, даже если вам покажется, что у вас просто черный экран, – ждите! Прерванная операция приведет ваше железо в «кирпич», чтобы реанимировать его, придется обращаться в сервисный центр для прошивки биос через программатор.

Как вы видите, обновить биос материнской платы gigabyte просто, и это под силу практически каждому пользователю.

Пробовала реанимировать старый компьютер, требовалось обновление BIOS на материнской плате Gigabyte, пробовала подсунуть разные флешки с прошивками в FAT32, но ни в какую не работало. Поменяла файловую систему на просто FAT и всё получилось. Может кому поможет.

GA-81925XE-G пробывал обнавить из БИОС, а там загрузка только с дискеты…..

Да, такое можно встретить на старых материнских платах, но уже гораздо редко. Процесс в целом тот же, только записываете на флоппи-диск.
