. replacement for default blizzarda action bars? Also wanna try to use masque addon.
I’ve always used Bartender and I’ve always been thoroughly satisfied with it. It’s easy to set up and configure and you have more than enough options to make the bars look like whatever you want. I’ve never tried Dominos, though, so I can’t judge how good it is.
I’ve used both a fair bit. Both work with Masque.
Use Bartender. If you find Bartender can’t do something you want it to (fairly unlikely), then give Dominos a go.
Honestly, back in the day I’ve been using Bartender and it gave me a lot of issues, more memory usage, every time there was a new patch coming it’d be that one addon with terrible stability and fps drop-fest. I’ve swapped to Dominos quite a while ago already and I’ve never had a single issue since then, very low memory usage and it has everything you need.
Dominoes is nothing compared to Bartender now. I was a huge fan of dominoes and now I’ve switched to Dominoes. Bartender has it’s own issues and so does dominoes but in the end, I really enjoy bartenders XP bar, customization and flexibility compared to dominos
. btw forgot to mention, since I have razer naga 2014 what about that action bars addon, anybody have some exp with that addon also. btw I always try to pref addons with low mem usage.
anyway thx to all of you for sugestions. cheers.
Since you are not detailing any specific requirements, then I see no reason why you can’t use either.
I do not personally know how their features differ, but for users without a very specific need then either should do just fine.
bartender is more up to date

It was a modified version of dominos pretty much last time I used it.
I use a Naga too. With Bartender you can: Make an extra action bar that is 3 rows of 4 icons (so that it is the same as the buttons on the side of the Naga). Put all your Naga spells and keybinds on that bar. If you want you can then use the visibility setting to make it invisible until you roll over it.
there’s one issue with BT i cant stand and have no idea how to work around.. it’s that when you have 100% fade you can still see the GCD on most spells. annoying as hell. Im not havving this issue with dominos allthough i’ve read somewhere this is with blizz bla bla bla to do so still seems odd but yeah
My personal custom UI uses Dominos bars that appear or disappear based on the hostile/friendly/notargetselected status. Last time i tried to set up Bartender, it did not have the functionality to support that setup. Admittedly that was years ago, but i never even looked at Bartender again after that.
Of late, i have grown a little weary of the humdrum plainness of Dominos, but i refuse to use static bars. Can the newer versions of Bartenders be set up to show/hide/change based on target status?
I have a naga as well, Dominos or Bartender, it doesn’t matter, it is totally up to you what you want to use.
Like a lot of us have said, some of us have had poor experiences with either.
I am a big advocate of Bartender, having recently switched.
Switches to default Blizzard UI when in vehicles(awesome) things of that nature for me, and the fader is more detailed, and the XP bar is WOW’s original.
Dominos has some advanced options of its own as well
The GCD sweep on 100% faded bars was caused by OmniCC when I had that issue.
hmm well havent used Omni CC since like.. i dunno t15? so can’t be that. and still have this issue with BT

As many have said it is all about personal preference.
But since you mentioned lower memory usage I recommend Dominos. It has less features built directly into it which are easily filled by using other addons such as OmniCC(or tullaCooldownCount which is lighter) and tullaRange. All addons can be installed at the users discretion.
Is there something in dominos that actually requires an update, or is it a bump to the number for the sake of it.
Not being as recently «updated» does not mean anything if an addon is working as intended.
I have one working from 2010 just fine, because no part of how it works has changed.

People need to stop obsessing over memory usage.
The game client is likely using a few hundred times what either of those addons use.
Memory usage as a measure just from a simplistic number isn’t helpful.
In all but extreme cases it is CPU usage that will hurt performance more.
Only that is harder to see since the UI doesn’t show that by default.
It shouldn’t be showing memory usage, since it is not going to be a useful measure in that form.
You misspelled «gigabytes», as in around two of them, which is what the average client runs to.

This. Memory is only really an issue if the addon is made poorly. CPU is the big thing to worry about and it depends on the addons. Bar addons don’t mater much because you always have a bar going by default so not much is going to change. damage meters, boss mods, timer addons, and stuff like that is when CPU usage starts to be an issue. Even then it can depend on raid size. my laptop is fine in 5-10 man with damage meters but in 40 mans things start to get a bit rough for the little guy.
