Создание гибкой нити началось в не таком уж и далёком 2010 году, когда Игнасио Гарсия заполучил свой первый 3D-принтер. По причинам, окутанным тайной, он очень хотел печатать обувь и крайне расстроился, когда узнал, что нити фактически ограничены PLA, ABS и нейлоном. И, храня в душе настоящего мэйкера, приступил Игнасио к поиску идеального для него материала. Занимался исследованиями и разработками он в гараже, перепробовав десятки возможных хот-эндов и материалов. Но что же было дальше?
В 2013 году Игнасио Гарсия решается бросить работу и основать свою собственную компанию RECREUS. И не потому что он дерзкий испанец, а потому что рецепт материала, который теперь известен нам как FilaFlex был наконец найден! Первые продажи тут же взлетели благодаря тестовым моделям обуви для 3D-печати, которые были выложены на recreus.com. Из чего состоит FilaFlex? Основным материалом является полиуретан с добавками, которые, которые облегчают процесс печати.
Cовсем недавно 3D-принтеры и FilaFlex использовал испанский модный дом Yona Taola для создания своей коллекции. И если Данит Пелег была студенткой, рискнувшей использовать новую технологию, то Yona Taola, в свою очередь, в мире моды достаточно известны и не стали бы обращаться к 3D-печати, если бы не были в ней уверены. Но результаты показа превзошли все ожидания и в будущем они планируют всё больше и больше внедрять FilaFlex в свои работы.
Нельзя не упомянуть и наш отечественный проект ShareCloth, представивших свой проект на Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia 2017. Они планируют создать облачное хранилище одежды, которую можно отпечатать на 3D-принтере и возможно именно им предстоит перевернуть привычное представление о нашей повседневной одежде.
Помогали ему Дамиан Аксфорд и Роберт Лонгботтом, а в теоретические вопросы и тестирование взяли на себя Footworx Podiatry Clinics. Что мы имеем в итоге? Отличный инструмент для создания идеальной стельки под любую ногу!

Nike, New Balance и другие производители обуви все чаще поглядывают на технологии 3D-печати, думая как их можно применить в своей индустрии. И если до этого их изделия представляли собой буквально штучные экземпляры под конкретного спортсмена, то Adidas пошли куда дальше: они запустили в производство ограниченную линейку 3D-печатной обуви, которая будет продаваться всего в трех городах. По утверждению производителя, сочетание высокой плотности деталей их кроссовок вместе с уменьшенной толщиной позволило максимально уменьшить вес их обуви.
