IOP Publishing makes abstracts openly available
IOP Publishing (IOPP) has joined the Initiative for Open Abstracts (I4OA), a collaboration between publishers, infrastructure organisations, librarians, and researchers to promote the open availability of abstracts. IOPP will deposit abstracts of their scholarly communications with Crossref, the not-for-profit Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registration agency bringing together abstracts in a common format in one searchable.

Three new academic journals to meet growing demand for environmental research
IOP Publishing (IOPP) is launching three new, fully open access (OA) journals, extending the publisher’s Environmental Research series. IOPP’s Environmental Research Series now comprises of six titles that collectively address all major areas of environmental science. Environmental Research: Health (ERH) and Environmental Research: Climate (ERCL) will both open submissions from today. The third new journal, Environmental Research: Ecology (ERE) will open for submissions later in.
Congratulations to the Nobel Prize in Physics winners
IOP Publishing would like to congratulate Syukoro Manabe, Klaus Haselmann and Giorgio Parisi on winning the 2021 Nobel Prize for Physics. They have been awarded the prize for their ground-breaking contributions to our understanding of complex physical systems. Syukoro Manabe and Klaus Haselmann have been jointly awarded half of the 2021 NobelPrize in Physics for their physical modelling of Earth’s climate, quantifying variability and reliably predicting global warming. Giorgio Parisi was awarded the other.
