Инфлюэнция – что это такое простыми словами
Значение термина «инфлюэнция»
Каждый год, как только начинает резко холодать, одновременно с ненастьем приходит пора, когда большинство людей начинает болеть гриппом, или как его еще называют, инфлюэнцией.
Данное заболевание имеет вирусную природу и, несмотря на все ухищрения и меры предосторожности, принимаемые человеком, все равно настигает нас. Попробуем разобраться для начала, что же такое инфлюэнция.
Если быть точным, то правильно это слово произноситься «инфлюэнца», однако оно адаптировалось в русском языке и обрело новую форму – «инфлюэнция». Пришло оно в русский язык еще в Петровские времена (лат. Influentia – влияние, воздействие, проникновение, распространение).
История термина весьма интересна, существует несколько версий его происхождения.
Согласно одной из гипотез, ученые средневековья не могли объяснить причины данной болезни, тогда астрологи взялись решить загадку, и выдвинули свою гипотезу, предположив, что именно определенное размещение на небе планет провоцирует возникновение болезни.
Некоторое время даже считалось, что планеты способны выделять особые жидкости, которые едва ли не магически воздействуют на состояние здоровья человека. Как ни странно, но еще в девятнадцатом веке масоны все еще употребляли это слово, имея в виду некую мистическую составляющую, причем применяли его, говоря не только о болезни, но и о любых других процессах, на которые было оказано какое-либо влияние.
Вторая гипотеза более приземленная и предполагает, что слово инфлюэнция – это сокращение крылатой итальянской фразы «influenza di fredo», в переводе означающей «влияние холода». Таким образом, в слове была отражена скоррелированность наступления холодного времени года и возникновения заболевания, как считалось, связанного исключительно с тем, что человек простужался.
Однако в традиционной медицине слово «инфлюэнция» начали использовать только после сильнейшей пандемии гриппа, произошедшей в конце восемнадцатого века.
В наше время чаще используется термин «грипп» (grippe), пришедший к нам из французского языка.
В чем заключается заболевание?
Инфлюэнция представляет собой тяжело протекающее инфекционное заболевание, для которого характерно поражение дыхательных путей. Инфлюэнцу включают в ряд заболеваний, обобщенно называемых острыми респираторными вирусными инфекциями.
Источником болезни является ортомиковирус (Myxovirus influenzae), который медики делят на три вида, различающихся по строению. Это вирусы гриппа типа А (их выявлено 10 вариантов — от N1 до N10), В, С.
Потому, даже переболев однажды одним из вирусов и будучи привитым от него, можно заболеть другой его разновидностью.
Инфлюэнца в истории
Ошибочно считать, что инфлюэнца является болезнью возникшей недавно. Конечно, утверждать, что ею болели еще при первобытном строе нельзя, поскольку на костной ткани она не оставляет следов, а значит и уверенно говорить о её существовании в давние времена сложно.
Тем не менее, древнейшие летописи сохранили информацию, что и тысячу лет назад люди были повержены подобным болезням. Так, Гиппократ и Тит Ливий оставили скрупулезное описание подобных болезней, среди симптомов которых выделяли слабость, боли в мышцах и носоглотке, повышенную температуру тела. Они отмечали, что болезнь передается при контакте и очень быстро подвержена распространению, причем она могла охватить либо отдельный город, либо разойтись по всему континенту.
Ученые считают, что за этот временной период человечество пережило тринадцать крупнейших пандемий и около пятисот эпидемий инфлюэнции.
Впервые эпидемию болезни очень похожей на грипп документально зафиксировали в 1580 году, назвав её «итальянской лихорадкой». Она охватила многие страны Европы.
А вот непосредственно название «инфлюэнция» было дано болезни после крупнейшей пандемии охватившей Старый Свет в 1780-1782 годах. Считается, что термин был выбран не случайно, и использовался непосредственно в значении «распространение», что отражало внезапность возникновения болезни и огромную стремительность в её распространении.
Подобные эпидемии инфлюэнции были довольно часты, однако превращались во всемирные эпидемии крайне редко, именно тогда и были названы пандемиями.
Наиболее известные пандемии современной истории
В прошлом веке самой страшной пандемией стала пандемия так называемой «испанки» (первые сведения о распространении болезни появились в прессе Испании) в 1918-1920 годах, когда от инфлюэнции погибло более двадцати миллионов человек, а переболело более пятисот миллионов во всем мире.
Также в пятидесятых годах двадцатого века Азиатский грипп унес жизни более миллиона человек.
И сегодня различные штаммы гриппа бродят по планете, изрядно портя нам жизнь в осенне-зимний период.
