Поскольку многие центры IELTS временно приостановили проведение экзамена, у студентов стали рушиться академические планы. В ответ на эту ситуацию IELTS запускает IELTS Indicator – новый онлайн тест для поддержки академических планов школьников и студентов!
Что такое IELTS Indicator?
Это онлайн тест для проверки вашего уровня владения английским языком, созданный специально для тех стран, в которых в данный момент не проводится экзамен IELTS из-за COVID-19.
IELTS Indicator, как и обычный IELTS состоит из 4-х частей: Listening, Reading, Writing и Speaking. Все задания и вопросы составляются согласно всем стандартам IELTS, что гарантирует справедливую и реалистичную оценку ваших знаний.
Длительность основной части экзамена составляет 2 часа 45 минут. Все три части (Listening, Reading, Writing) пишутся за один раз, без перерывов. Время на выполнение каждой части отводится точно такое же, как и на обычном экзамене IELTS.
Устная часть экзамена (Speaking) также проводится онлайн с помощью видео звонка с сертифицированным экзаменатором IELTS, который сможет грамотно оценить ваш навык устного общения. Время и дата Speaking части назначается отдельно.

What is IELTS Indicator?
IELTS Indicator is an online test of English Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, which has been developed to support Educational Institutions with prospective student applications during the COVID-19 crisis.
IELTS Indicator follows the same content, format, structure and timing of an IELTS test and so will be familiar to test takers. IELTS Indicator Speaking test continues to value the importance of face-to-face conversational English as it is conducted over video call with a real IELTS examiner.
The test is available for a limited time in certain countries where IELTS testing is currently suspended or limited due to COVID-19.

How is IELTS Indicator different from the IELTS test?
Results are indicative as they may not be the same as what would be achieved in a high stakes, secure, test centre environment.
Where is the IELTS Indicator being offered?
The test is available for a limited time in certain locations where IELTS testing is currently limited or suspended due to COVID-19. It is not available in mainland China. Country availability will continue to be updated in the coming weeks.

How is IELTS Indicator Speaking test different from the IELTS?
By hosting the Speaking test with a trained examiner, IELTS Indicator maintains focus on assessing real life conversation al English ability – just like in the real world. No penalties for accents and no attempting to game a computer algorithm.
How much do test takers have to pay for IELTS Indicator?
Who marks the IELTS Indicator test?
Responses are marked by trained certified IELTS Examiners, following the IELTS marking criteria.
How frequently will this be offered in a specific market?
IELTS Indicator is available once a week at set times to test takers.
Will the test be timed?
The time window for the test is strictly controlled, so each section will be time-bound and is the same timing as used in IELTS.
What is the duration of IELTS Indicator?
It is the same duration as IELTS. Listening is for 30 minutes, followed by Reading for 60 minutes and then Writing for 60 minutes. The Speaking test can be held either before or after the Listening, Reading and Writing test and takes 11-14 minutes.
Will IELTS Indicator replace IELTS?
While it is not intended to replace IELTS, education institutions will be able to use IELTS Indicator results to help assess students’ applications during this period of suspended in-person testing.
Will this test cover 3-skills or 4-skills? Will there be a Speaking section?
IELTS Indicator tests all four skills – Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. To ensure that the test focuses on real-life conversation skills, students will conduct their Speaking test face-to-face with a trained IELTS Examiner via video call.
When will General Training be available?
Currently IELTS Indicator is only available as an Academic test. IELTS Indicator has been designed to support students’ progress their University and Educational Institution applications during the COVID-19 crisis and has not been developed for migration purposes.
IELTS Indicator is not accepted for economic migration to Canada.
Is the Safe Exam Browser available on iOS?
IELTS Indicator is only available for Windows PC and MacOS computers. IELTS Indicator cannot be taken using a mobile or tablet device.
About IELTS Indicator Scores
Will the test taker receive an overall score and scores for each skill?
An overall indicative score will be given to test takers as well as scores for each section of the test.
Will score ranges for IELTS Indicator be the same as for the regular in-person IELTS test?
When will IELTS Indicator results be released?
Test takers will receive their results within 7 calendar days of completing all sections of the test.
Do I need to register to receive IELTS Indicator Scores?
Yes, you will need to register your organisation to receive IELTS Indicator scores. You can easily do so by completing a registration form.
As part of the registration process you can provide your score requirements for IELTS Indicator and you can then request access to check and download IELTS Indicator scores.
You can also ask applicants to provide their Indicator Score ID to you with which you can verify their results online.
How will I receive the IELTS Indicator Scores?
You will be able to electronically download IELTS Indicator scores of all test takers who have applied to your organisation.
Can I verify the IELTS Indicator Scores on the current verification service?
No. A new website to check IELTS Indicator scores will be the web portal for organisations to check that the results they are receiving from applicants are genuine. By completing the online registration form, organisations will gain access to this portal.
Can I verify the IELTS Indicator Scores?
Yes. To access your applicants’ IELTS Indicator scores, you will need to check their score on the IELTS Indicator Score Check using the Indicator Score ID they provide you.
Why should I use IELTS Indicator scores?
IELTS Indicator is designed to support organisations during the COVID-19 situation. It uses official IELTS test questions and test taker’s performance is marked by qualified IELTS examiners. Therefore, in terms of test construction and assessment, IELTS Indicator is a valid assessment of English language proficiency.
What accessibility features does IELTS Indicator provide?
By default, font sizes, line spacing, and spacing between questions are designed to maintain readability of the information presented on the available screen space. IELTS Indicator also provides the option to enlarge the font size and change the colour settings to suit your needs.
About IELTS Indicator Security
Will IELTS Indicator be a proctored test?
IELTS Indicator features a combination of AI and human proctoring. During the Listening, Reading and Writing tests, video and audio will be recorded from the test taker’s camera and microphone, as well as a recording of their computer screen throughout the test. Each test taker’s test session will be assessed for possible malpractice through a combination of AI and human invigilation. Where malpractice is detected, the test taker will not receive an IELTS Indicator result.
How are identity checks carried out?
At registration test takers will be required to submit an accepted photo identity document. This will be used to ensure no previously banned IELTS test takers are able to sit IELTS Indicator. A combination of AI and human ID verification is used for the Listening, Reading and Writing test sections and the test taker will be required to take a photo of themselves and show and take a photo of their ID before the test commences. The Speaking test is conducted live via video by an IELTS Speaking Examiner and the test taker will be required to show their ID before the test commences.

Here’s what you need to know before you book IELTS Indicator
IELTS Indicator is a test of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking which you can complete at home with results available within seven days.
Available for a limited time, the test helps you progress your university or educational institution applications while IELTS testing is limited or suspended in certain locations due to COVID-19.
The IELTS Indicator Academic test occurs once every second week.
Before you book – complete the IELTS Indicator checklist
Do you have the following?
A quiet, comfortable and well-lit space to take your test, on your own
A stable internet connection
A working microphone and web camera on and uncovered for the duration of the test
Speakers (headphones can not be used)
Availability for the full duration of the Listening, Reading and Writing test – approximately 2 hours 45 minutes. These sections of the test need to be completed in one sitting; you cannot pause and come back later. Your Speaking test will be conducted separately.
As IELTS Indicator does not replace in-person testing, it is not accepted by all organisations. Before you book, be sure to check with your university or educational institution.
