Coddled eggs are made by very briefly immersing an egg in the shell in boiling water (to cook in water just below the boiling point) to slightly cook or coddle them.
The best eggs for coddling are the FRESHEST EGGS you can find (if eggs are more than a week old, the whites thin out). Whites of fresh eggs will gather compactly around the yolk, making a rounder, neater shape.

Я так поняла, что яйцо нужно залить кипятком и дать постоять (не на огне) минуту и быстро охладить.
Сейчас проведу эксперимент и сварю таким образом яйцо. Любопытный способ!

Да, ты права, но там рекомендуется сначала нагреть яйцо, если оно из холодильника, до комнатной температуры, потом залить кипящей водой и подержать 1 минуту, после этого сразу же опустить в холодную воду. Тоже пойду попробую

Я уже здесь. Поняла, зачем нужен egg-coddler. Он, видимо, выполняет роль своеобразного термоса, тк в обычной миске яйцо согрелось, белок слегка свернулся, но до нужного состояния еще далеко. А у тебя как?
Еще раз прочитала, как варить яйцо в coddler. Оказывается нужно этот сосуд смазать маслом разбить туда яйцо и поставить coddler в кипяток. Доведя до нужной степени, достать его и съесть.
Здесь несколько советов.
* During cooking, the egg coddler should not be totally submerged in boiling water. Stand the egg coddler in a pan of boiling water taking care that the water level only reaches halfway up the body of the coddler.
* Egg coddlers should not be used in a microwave oven.
* Egg coddlers should not be exposed to an open flame, nor placed directly on the burner of an electric range.
* Food Safety Note. Eating undercooked eggs poses an increased risk of contracting a food-borne illness, such as Salmonella poisoning. Children, the elderly, and anyone with a depressed immune system, are at high risk. Please cook your eggs according to your own tastes, but keep in mind your health risks as well. Also, be sure to avoid allowing cooked foods to come into contact with surfaces or utensils that have been used to handle raw food.

А так уже в тарелочке (это я вылила, чтобы нагдляднее было, какая консистенция получается)
Но мне кажется, что чуть не додержала его в кипятке. Хотя выдерживала 2 минуты. Возможно оно таким и должно получиться
