Windows

This worked for me. I downloaded sp78033, extracted the files and then updated the device by manually selecting the inf file via the driver update.
The sp78033 failed to install if left to do an automatic install.
HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor doesn’t work in Windows 10 Creator Update (code 48)
The HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor still worked good in Anniversary Update, but after I updated to Creators Update, it can’t be used again. This Windows 10 version of HP MDP which I downloaded in the HP’s website. I’ve reboot and even reset the PC, but the problem cannot be solved. Please help!
There is no fix for the hardware revision of the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor your notebook has at this time.
The driver that GBL84 posted is for the newer version of the 3D driveguard, and won’t work for your model.
The lastet version of the 3D driveguard driver can be found on your notebook’s support page (sp71714).
I don’t believe that reinstalling the driver will resolve the problem.
I suggest you report the bug to Microsoft.
Or you can contact HP at the link below and report the issue.
Open the Windows Control Panel, select Programs and Features, right click the entry for the HP 3D DriveGuard, and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
When you are at the Windows desktop, download and install this version of HP 3D DriveGuard at the link below, and restart the PC.

I am not an HP Employee
It’s a safety feature related to the hard drive. If the Mobile Data Protection Sensor detects your notebook is falling, it instructs the HDD to park the drive heads in an attempt to prevent damage to the drive.
I’ve installed Windows 10 Technical Preview on several machines and not found any issue with this, although it’s possible you may need to install an updated driver ( this is provided by HP 3D DriveGuard software ) when you upgrade to 10.
Use same steps as provided earlier

Hp mobile data protection sensor что это такое
Thanks! The following steps have worked for me:
— Install ‘HP 3D DriveGuard’ (ver. 5.2.2.1) from HP Driver&Support;
— Download ‘HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor’ (ver. 6.0.19.1) from Windows Update Catalog;
— Extract *.cab file using 7zip;
— Select the folder where you unzip the *.cab file;
Eventually the driver error fixed, but now at Windows startup it pops up another error about AccelerometerSt.exe that can’t start VCRuntime140.dll.
I’m also wondering what Windows doesn’t update this driver automatically if there is the compatible driver in the Windows Update Catalog?
Hi
Do exactly the following steps:
Reinstall HP 3D DriveGuard (ver. 5.2.2.1) When you reach the finish step and ask for a boot,
Do not boot.
Enter Device Manager Select the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor Right mouse, Properties, Device Manager tab, and then click Back to an old driver. It will ask for a reason no matter what you type.
After that you will restart and all will be normal.
Even the sergeant on the taskbar would return.
good luck to you
I also have the same problem on an HP Elitebook, Notebook 8470p running 32 bits, I’d try to download this one, but don’t work, well, something goes wrong that block me from installing this download solution. Don’t know but it got me crazy. Also, I saw the same problem on a friend of my PC that have an HP Envy 15, this problem is more common after a failed update.
A real good solution will be appreciated. Thank you for your time.
It worked for me with my HP EliteBook Folio 9470m,
I previusly have the HP 3D Drive Guard software version installed version 5.2.2.1 with the error saying that the driver stoped and I try downloading the driver from the Microsoft Catalog and following this steps from aleunge and it works.
The software opened it´s still the V.5 but the driver it´s version 6.0.21.1 and now it´s working fine on my Windows 10 Pro Creators Update (Compilation 15063.413).
For the ProBook 4720s I also went to Microsoft’s Catalog, but had to get an older driver than what’s listed above. The one listed above is for newer hardware than is in the ProBook 4720s. In the Catalog, I did a search on the hardware ID of «hpq0004» and it returned two options, one for Win7 & one for WinXP. I chose the Win7 option which was version 4.2.2.1 5/12/2011. This is slightly newer than the one HP has on their web site, but it was enough to get it to work.
When I tried to update the driver by telling Device Manager to search Microsoft or by running Windows Update and telling it to check for updates, Windows wouldn’t find the newer driver that Microsoft has. I had to manually get it from the Catalog.
i guess its because i also using Hp 4540s
Thank you very much!
Your solution worked perfectly on my Probook 4540S.
This does shake one’s confidence, though, in the accuracy of the Microsoft Message in Device Manager, «Windows has determined that the best driver for this device is already installed.»
I think I am going to go through all of my devices, now, using the Microsoft driver site that you provided,
to check that everything is truly up to date!

Glad that works. It seems like quite a task to check through all your drivers through the MS catalog. perhaps just the essentials?
HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor is not compatible with Windows 10 (code 48)
driver is blocked by Windows 10 and adviced to look at HP for new drive. HP doesn’t give a newer one nor a solution for this hardware problem.

Thanks for your answer, but I already tried this driver/app.
The answer of Windows is: This app cannot be execute on this PC.The acccelorometer doesn’t work on this version of Windows. Possibly there is an worked arround version available.
Windows 10 home: version 1709: build 16299.192
There is no fix that I know of and it has been this way for at least a year or so.
See if this works to at least install the hardware.
Go to the windows control panel, find the HP 3D driveguard software and select Uninstall.
Then download and save, but do not run the W10 3D driveguard file from your notebook’s support page.
Download and install this free file utility. The 2nd file listed at the top of the page is for 64 bit.
After you install 7-Zip, right click on the driver file you saved.
Select 7-Zip from the menu.
Have 7-Zip extract to: and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp#####).
Once that is done, go to the device manager, click on the unknown ACPI\HPQ6000 device.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder 7-Zip created.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and see if the driver installs that way.
Then restart the PC.
If that doesn’t work, then nothing will.
This way I was able to install driver but not from mentioned SoftPaq.
I guess it was SP81142.
Driver version is 6.0.20.1
I could fix the problem in my old HP Pavilion dv6-1050us Etertainment Notebook PC thanks to you.
In my case the problem was related with two components of this device that had a problem, then I downloaded SP61037 and I unzipped it manually. Then I ordered to update components from the Device Manager and this was the result, with no conflicts at this time:
But now my question is. what if I install SP61037 because at this time I have no HP 3D driveguard software installed.
