I’ve had H&G installed on my PC since December and have yet to uninstall it until this issue began popping up approximately 3 days ago.
I have reinstalled, attempted to verify game cache and have received two different messages: «5931 Files need to be reacquired» or «5 Files need to be reacquired»
I have attempted to start the Service via services.msc and it gives me the «Error 193:0xc1». I have then proceeded to remove the services COMPLETELY via regedit, restart my PC and again reinstall via Steam and still receive the error «HNG Service is not properly installed»
In the midst of reinstalling the Steam version I also tried the most updated standalone HNG installer and it gave me the «HNG Service is not properly installed and some files are missing» or something along the lines.
This is utter bull**** and I’d actually like to play H&G. I also filed a ticket via H&G Support. Anyone got suggestions?
I got the same problem and I did this, my problem was solved.
1. Uninstall game from steam.
2. Restart computer. / Kill related services,running tools.
3. Delete game folder «
/steamapps/common/Heroes & Generals».
4. Delete folder «C:\Users\user_name\AppData\LocalLow\Heroes and Generals»
5. Delete folder «C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\HeroesAndGeneralsDesktop»
* If you got anything else in this location «C:\Users\user_name\AppData\» related to this game delete them all.
* If you have anything related to this game, I mean to run the game or used by the game uninstall/remove them all.
* Remember, you don’t have to remove «Steam». You don’t need to re-install steam again. Leave it as it is.
6. Now restart the computer. (You won’t have to but I did it to be satisfied! )
7 Now go the steam and re-install game usual way.
This solution was fixed my game. It might be yours. Just try it.

MTA 1.4 Refuses to work

I apologize that my first post here is a topic where I seek for help. But MTA 1.4 just refuses to work so I have no other option as coming here.
MTA 1.4 used to work just fine for me till today. Whenever I start it it says:
Multi Theft Auto has not been installed properly, please reinstall. [Date directory not present]
Of course I reinstalled it. I actually did that several times. Not only have I tried the latest full install, but I also tried earlier versions. And the weird part is, MTA 1.3.5 works just fine. My fellow staff members recommended me to uninstall 1.3.5 as well and reinstall it and I did. But, it didn’t work. I also tried installing 1.4 in a different place instead of in my Program Files (x86) but that too didn’t work (I tried it in the GTA file itself and there was no change). I even reinstalled my GTA SA as I thought that «[Date directory not present]» might refer to that but it too didn’t work.
It’s essential for me to have a functioning 1.4 as the server I play on solely uses 1.4
Additional information that might be useful:
MTA 1.4 gets installed in
C:\Program Files (x86)\MTA San Andreas 1.4
MTA 1.3.5 gets installed in
C:\Program Files (x86)\MTA San Andreas 1.3
My GTA SA gets installed in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas
And I’ve had this specific GTA for over 3 years and it has always worked fine. Till I didn’t use the computer for about a week. I checked everything when I install it but it’s supposed to work. I seriously have no idea why my 1.3.5 runs fine while my 1.4 doesn’t.
