Слово ‘Gotcha’ является сленговым словом, и очень широко используется в повседневной жизни среди носителей английского языка.

Произношение ‘Gotcha’
[gAtcha] — американский вариант.
1. Первое, самое распространенное значение слова ‘Gotcha’ — это ‘я понял тебя.’ Смотрите пояснение на английском от моего друга из Америки:
«Very good question! ‘Gotcha’ has at least two meanings, depending on the context.
The first meaning is ‘I understand,’ and is informal.
For instance, if someone is giving me directions on how to get somewhere, I could say «I understand,» or I could simply nod my head and say «gotcha.» If I ask someone on the phone if they want to meet for dinner and they say they can’t go for any reason, I could say «okay, gotcha.»(с)
2. Второе значение — «попался», если вы кого-то поймали, застали и т.д. Кошка поймала мышку, человек поймал птичку,и т.д.
«Another meaning is ‘I caught you’ or ‘I have got you.’ If one of my cats is running around and I need to take him to the vet, if I finally catch him I could say «Gotcha!»
If I see a roach on the floor and I step on him I could say «Gotcha.» If a policeman is chasing a criminal down the street and tackles him, he could say «Gotcha!» It is a very common phrase used in daily American life and is acceptable slang.»(с)

Эту фразу буржуй затруднился перевести.
О чем он прямо говорит.
Тем не менее, он пояснил значение ‘I’ts my gotcha day’ как уверенность в том, что день будет хорошим несмотря ни на что. И никто, даже сама жизнь, не сможет дать тебе пинка.)

В данной заметке мы попробуем разобраться и объяснить основные сокращения глаголов, претерпевающих ассимиляцию, в потоке устной речи английского языка.
Употребление gonna, wanna, gotcha
Итак, ознакомьтесь с употребелнием gonna, wanna, gotcha и иные с ними:
– Gonna /g’ɒnə, –‘going to’ – собираться что-то сделать.
– Gotta /g’ɒdə/ – ‘got to’ – попал (куда-л., во что-л.) или был должен (have got to).
– Wanna /w’ɒnə/ – ‘want to’, ‘want a’ – хотеть чего-либо.
gimme – ‘give me’ – Дайте мне; дай сюда!
– Gotcha – ‘I have got you’, “Я тебя понял”, “Ты попался”, “Не уйдёшь”.
А теперь развеем несколько мифов.
Миф №1, употребляются gonna, wanna, gotcha только в американском английском. Это неправда, эти ужасно прилипчивые выражения можно услышать из уст как носителей, так и не носителей языка. Основная прелесть заключается в том, что они экономят время говорящего, кроме того предложения становятся более лаконичными и музыкальными.
Миф №2, употребляются gonna, wanna, gotcha только в сленге необразованными людьми. Это неправда, вы можете услышать из уст дикторов по телевидению или ваших любимых актеров подобные изречения, на официальных переговорах между компаниями, очень часто употребляется жаргонная лексика. Т.е. данные сокращения давно стали ‘neutral’ (нейтральными). Например.
We are gonna reduce this price. Gotcha, we’ll do all best!
Миф №3 gonna, wanna, gotcha не используются в письменной речи, это считается безграмотным. А вот и нет, ниже приведены заголовки статей и названия книг, они говорят об обратном. Более того, данные слова усиливаю передачу авторской эмоциональной выразительности.
