Здравствуйте! До установки Windows 7 выходила ошибка :»ntldr is missing». Когда пробовала.

При установке выдаёт «uncompression error system halted»
Не смотря на то, что все вопросы слабо или средне затрагивают линух, всё стремится к нему. 2.

Feature transfer error что делать

Due to the random crashes I’ve been having, and by crash I mean my pc shuts off, I went to reinstall the game and during disc 5 I get this message pop up;

Feature: Game Data
File: E:\Data6.cab
Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)

Anybody know what that means or what I can do?

@jehu58 That makes me think it’s either a bad disc, or a good disc that your drive is having problems reading for some reason. Is it scratched or marked in any way?

Try copying the data from the disc into a folder on your hard drive and during the install, when it asks you for the disc, point it at the folder instead of the drive.

If it fails to copy the data from the disc to your hard drive, then it might be the reasons I posted in my first paragraph. But sometimes, a disc will copy, even though it might fail during an actual install.

That was a good Idea. The disc is perfect except for one slight mark which must be the problem. It still couldn’t read the data cab6 file.
Will it let me use someone elses disc 5 or will it know its from a different set? Thats the only thing I can think of.

It’s kind of a shame that it looks like the scratch was caused because the edge of the disc rests on the plastic from the center of another disc the way they’re double stacked.

@jehu58 Any disc 5 will work, it doesn’t care if its from the same set or not.

The problem with disc scratches, is if they go across the disc, the error correction will deal with it. If they go round the disc, the error can’t get to a good part quick enough to fix the error.

Have a look for a game store where you live, a lot of them have DVD repair machines, which will get your disc back in order.

Some toothpaste worked for reading the disc and the copy to desktop worked fine. I reinstalled the social club just so everything would be new,vanilla without any mods or alterations of any kind and it shut down again right as the game starts.

@LeeC2202, What can I do now?

@jehu58 Are you sure there are no mods left in the game folder? Reinstalling Social Club doesn’t remove any mods, in fact it does nothing to files that are already in the game folder, that weren’t put there by the game installation?

When you reinstalled, did you install over the top of the existing game, or did you delete the folder completely.

I uninstalled by going through control panel and remove programs with the game and then social club. Then reinstall with the discs. Should I have manually deleted everything? I’ll look through the game folder and check for anything but I thought that should’ve made everything new. That was my intention anyway was to have everything vanilla and new.

I appreciate your time @LeeC2202, it’s nice to see someone using logical solutions rather than Rockstar telling me vid drivers, reinstall windows etc. Like the disappearing cars fix with the link you gave me to a file,much better than reinstalling my operating system, good grief. Anyway Thanks Lee, I’d do whatever you suggest because I see your logic in this forum,Rockstar should pay attention and follow your lead with their «support».

I think you nailed it again. There was all the mods in my new install. I’ll manually ditch everything and reinstall again.

@jehu58 You don’t need to reinstall again, just remove/rename your mods folder and anything script related.

So scripthookv.dll, dinput8.dll, scripthookvdotnet.asi, openiv.asi and any other mods in your main folder.

I did uninstall everything just so I know that the problem isn’t lurking in an old folder. Same result, as soon as the game finishes loading the pc shuts off. I dont know if it means anything but I reinstalled the game on a second hard drive, where it has always been, and it decided to install the social club on my C drive. Is that an issue?

There is no remnants of any mods,no mod or script folder, and I’m baffled. I can run skyrim heavily modded,battlefield online and everything else with no problem.

@jehu58 My game is installed on my M: drive with Social Club on my C: drive, so that’s fine.

The PC shutting off is a fairly drastic event and my first port of call in that situation, would be the windows event viewer. which is in Control Panel > Administrative Tools if you’ve never used it before.

Check Windows Logs > System and Windows Logs > Application and look for any Red exclamation marks.

I’ve looked at the event viewer before but I’m not knowledgeable with that info or what to do with it.

@jehu58 That’s not related to this problem I suspect and it’s weird that it is not logging the shut-down as a flagged event. Any instant shutdowns are usually flagged as a Kernel Power error.

The last straw that I could probably clutch at, would be your profile. to which I would say go into your My Documents folder and rename (not delete) your Rockstar Games folder. When you run the game, that will force it to recreate a new folder with a new profile.

Don’t worry, your old profile won’t be deleted, you can just delete this new folder and put the old one back to the original name. This will also force it to create a new settings file as well.

I don’t know whether that will make any difference because my fears are that this could be system related, rather than game related. But I don’t have many more suggestions if that’s the case. Full system diagnostics are a bit beyond the scope of both my knowledge and this thread.

@jehu58 The first one is probably just registering the shutdown. The second one is for the service manager. The last one is apparently an error caused by incompatible C++ runtimes.

So for that, my advice would be to go into your add/remove programmes, make a note of all the runtimes you have installed (the numbers at the end are important), remove them and then reinstall them from the Microsoft site. Reinstalling the game won’t fix them, it will just think they are still installed.

Another thing you could try before that, is open a command prompt. I do that by pressing the Windows Key + R, then type cmd and hit enter. When you have that command prompt open, type «sfc /scannow» without the quotes (or copy and paste that text) and let it run. That will check the integrity of any system files and repair any that are corrupted.

Video settings
While Grand Theft Auto V does offer quite an extensive list of options, some of the more subtle post process effects, such as the chromatic aberration, cannot be disabled. The game also includes some more uncommon options, such as the game pause when out of focus, which forces the game to use less power from the CPU while idling, and some startup settings. Otherwise, no other options truly stand out.

Most notifications can easily be disabled, along with any elements which are part of the game’s main UI system, which does certainly allow for a far more immersive and customizable experience.

By default the subtitles and other elements which are part of the UI might be a bit too close to the edges of the screen, however, the game does provide a safezone setting, which should very slightly help solve this issue.

Field of View
Even though the game does feature a field of view slider, it’s limited to the on foot, first person camera mode. The first person driving mode is not affected by this setting. The field of view slider is not numbered, which makes it harder to pick a more specific and suitable value. The standard field of view should be around 85 degrees.

Andytizer
Modder DrDaxxy has created a modification in which one can set a specific field of view setting manually. Again, this only affects first person camera mode (not driving), and it remains to be seen whether Rockstar recognises modding of files in manner. This mod modifies game memory and could result in a ban, use at your own risk. Full instructions can be found on the main PCGamingWiki article. Texture Quality
On the Normal setting, most ground textures will have a very washed out look, while on the higher quality settings the textures start looking far more sharper and a whole lot more detailed. Even when using the high quality textures, the overall framerate hit should be pretty minor. The textures play a big part into how the game does look, along with the shader setting.

On the other hand, high resolution shadows are a framerate killer, most differences are pretty hard to spot and otherwise there’s not much point in using this setting during usual gameplay. Reflection Quality
Reflections play a very important role in Grand Theft Auto V, they can completely change the game’s entire mood and look to a greater effect. However reflections at the maximum setting can be quite a huge performance killer on lighter systems, a value of High should probably be used instead, they do however, give the game a far more well defined look, while adding some more subtle details to certain objects which can change how some environments might be perceived.

The MSAA setting can be quite performance intensive when set to it’s maximum value, there doesn’t seem to be much point in using it. Car mirrors do not cast their own reflections, even though most mirrors in the game are able to, none of the settings appear to affect them.

Reflections also do apply to most characters, most notably while being wet, and even the eyes themselves will change depending on the setting. However, Michael doesn’t seem too happy with his new look, can’t blame him though, he’s wet. Most cars in the game will display a far more cheaper look on the Normal setting, similar to Michael’s jacket.

Water Quality
Rather self explanatory, there’s a very minor framerate hit as a whole.

Depending on which reflection setting is being used, most objects should be cast on the water’s surface.

Grass Quality
The grass setting mainly affects the density of the grass itself, instead of the actual quality.

On the Ultra setting grass may also begin casting it’s own shadows. While the framerate hit is pretty small, lesser systems might not be able to cope with the higher settings. It’s best to set it to High, if there’s any problems, otherwise it shouldn’t be too bad.

Performance analysis
Most players should be able to comfortably play the game at a stable framerate even on the normal settings, while possibly bumping up the shader and texture settings up to High, in order to make things look less washed out, seeing as those two settings mainly change the overall look of the game. Even on such a system the game does behave fairly well.

However, sometimes some of the loading screens do tend to get quite long, but they don’t honestly really get in the way too much, this problem could probably be mitigated by running the game on an SSD, although that would be a very expensive solution. There were also some issues while alt tabbing, as the game may sometimes fail to fully recover, however, switching back to the windowed mode and back to the fullscreen mode can help.

The MSAA antialiasing mode is incredibly performance intensive, any values over X2 were overkill on this system. NVIDIA’s TXAA can only be enabled once the MSAA setting has been set to it’s minimum value. Most, if not all the advanced video settings are incredibly performance hungry, the extended distance scaling setting is another large framerate killer, there were no real differences while using it.

On weaker systems, closing any background software might be necessary, due to the very intensive way most resources are handled. Leaving a browser open may possibly interfere with the game’s framerate, causing it to even possibly strutter due to the already limited memory. When out of focus during a loading screen, the game might pause itself for an indefinite amount of time, this can however be disabled from the options menu.

The Post FX, Tessellation and NVIDIA PCSS settings can also pretty demanding, the tessellation itself isn’t very noticeable and NVIDIA’s PCSS might behave rather poorly.

Grand Theft Auto V for PC is a well-optimised game, especially compared to how abysmally GTA IV’s port ran on PC at the time of release.

The game does feature quite a few options just for the controls, most, if not all keys should be rebindable and otherwise the controls menu is pretty complete. However, there are some issues with the mouse controls, for the most part aiming never truly felt as precise as it should have been. Even the keyboard settings have some small issues. Certain keys are bound into some rather awkward positions by default, and even the controller somehow managed to suffer from the rather awkward and cluttered control scheme. The weapon’s wheel system can very often get pretty fiddly to use, and often feels very wonky when compared to the far simpler systems which were present in the previous games.

Thankfully switching between controller and keyboard is totally seamless. You can go from playing on a keyboard with keyboard and mouse prompts, and as soon as one nudges the controller, all the icons will be replaced with the appropriate controller icons. I tended to enjoy first person shooting controls with keyboard and mouse, and then switch to controller for driving and flying.

The dialogue boost setting is fairly self explanatory, along with the newly introduced custom radio station. Windows shortcuts can be created into the appropriate folder if needed in order to save up some space.

Conclusion
While the game might certainly not be a poor release, Grand Theft Auto V suffers from quite a few technical issues which might constantly get in the way of the player. The game is plagued by a fairly large amount of serious issues, however even though the game does perform amazingly well, some of these issues do add up quickly, certain features either downright not working properly, or behaving incredibly poorly.

The MSAA setting can be quite performance intensive when set to it’s maximum value, there doesn’t seem to be much point in using it. Car mirrors do not cast their own reflections, even though most mirrors in the game are able to, none of the settings appear to affect them.

Reflections also do apply to most characters, most notably while being wet, and even the eyes themselves will change depending on the setting. However, Michael doesn’t seem too happy with his new look, can’t blame him though, he’s wet. Most cars in the game will display a far more cheaper look on the Normal setting, similar to Michael’s jacket.

Water Quality
Rather self explanatory, there’s a very minor framerate hit as a whole.

Depending on which reflection setting is being used, most objects should be cast on the water’s surface.

Grass Quality
The grass setting mainly affects the density of the grass itself, instead of the actual quality.

On the Ultra setting grass may also begin casting it’s own shadows. While the framerate hit is pretty small, lesser systems might not be able to cope with the higher settings. It’s best to set it to High, if there’s any problems, otherwise it shouldn’t be too bad.

Performance analysis
Most players should be able to comfortably play the game at a stable framerate even on the normal settings, while possibly bumping up the shader and texture settings up to High, in order to make things look less washed out, seeing as those two settings mainly change the overall look of the game. Even on such a system the game does behave fairly well.

However, sometimes some of the loading screens do tend to get quite long, but they don’t honestly really get in the way too much, this problem could probably be mitigated by running the game on an SSD, although that would be a very expensive solution. There were also some issues while alt tabbing, as the game may sometimes fail to fully recover, however, switching back to the windowed mode and back to the fullscreen mode can help.

The MSAA antialiasing mode is incredibly performance intensive, any values over X2 were overkill on this system. NVIDIA’s TXAA can only be enabled once the MSAA setting has been set to it’s minimum value. Most, if not all the advanced video settings are incredibly performance hungry, the extended distance scaling setting is another large framerate killer, there were no real differences while using it.

On weaker systems, closing any background software might be necessary, due to the very intensive way most resources are handled. Leaving a browser open may possibly interfere with the game’s framerate, causing it to even possibly strutter due to the already limited memory. When out of focus during a loading screen, the game might pause itself for an indefinite amount of time, this can however be disabled from the options menu.

The Post FX, Tessellation and NVIDIA PCSS settings can also pretty demanding, the tessellation itself isn’t very noticeable and NVIDIA’s PCSS might behave rather poorly.

Grand Theft Auto V for PC is a well-optimised game, especially compared to how abysmally GTA IV’s port ran on PC at the time of release.

The game does feature quite a few options just for the controls, most, if not all keys should be rebindable and otherwise the controls menu is pretty complete. However, there are some issues with the mouse controls, for the most part aiming never truly felt as precise as it should have been. Even the keyboard settings have some small issues. Certain keys are bound into some rather awkward positions by default, and even the controller somehow managed to suffer from the rather awkward and cluttered control scheme. The weapon’s wheel system can very often get pretty fiddly to use, and often feels very wonky when compared to the far simpler systems which were present in the previous games.

Thankfully switching between controller and keyboard is totally seamless. You can go from playing on a keyboard with keyboard and mouse prompts, and as soon as one nudges the controller, all the icons will be replaced with the appropriate controller icons. I tended to enjoy first person shooting controls with keyboard and mouse, and then switch to controller for driving and flying.

The dialogue boost setting is fairly self explanatory, along with the newly introduced custom radio station. Windows shortcuts can be created into the appropriate folder if needed in order to save up some space.

Conclusion
While the game might certainly not be a poor release, Grand Theft Auto V suffers from quite a few technical issues which might constantly get in the way of the player. The game is plagued by a fairly large amount of serious issues, however even though the game does perform amazingly well, some of these issues do add up quickly, certain features either downright not working properly, or behaving incredibly poorly.
