Installing 7-zip won’t solve this. This is about the Firefox installer that is packed with 7-zip self extracting code. When you install Firefox then the 7-zip stub needs to create a directory to extract all the files. For some reason it isn’t possible to create this folder.
You can try to clear the TEMP folder to see if that has effect.
Did you try to boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode?

Then you can provide more information like your operating system and installed extensions and installed plugins.
In case of crashes also please add some recent crash IDs that you can find on the about:crashes page and that start with a «bp-» prefix
Try to clear the temp folder where the installer stores its files after extracting.
Make sure that your security (anti-virus) software isn’t causing problems.

I tried the solution but i still get the same error 🙁
After much messing around and frustration, I finally solved the problem by (1) uninstalling 7-Zip; (2) rebooting the computer; (3) reinstalling 7-Zip; (4) creating a ‘temp’ folder in the 7-Zip program; and (4) running the installation of Firefox directly from the download page instead of downloading it first onto my computer and running setup from the downloaded file. Worked like a charm.
FWIW: strangely enough, uninstalling 7-Zip and rebooting the computer did not get rid of the ‘7-Zip’ error message when trying to install Firefox. I know next to nothing about how computers’ innards work, but it struck me as bazaar that uninstalling 7-Zip and rebooting the computer didn’t at least get rid of the 7-Zip error message.
