Best of three что это

in normal terms, bo2, means Best of 2 matches. BO3 means. you guessed it, best of 3 matches. Not first to 3 wins. Does CS seriously change up the terminology from what’s logical, to completely nonsensical?

Well, the number after ‘best of’ usually means the amount of maps that you have to win in order to win the entire match. If I’m wrong than I’m sorry, but it doesn’t change my good mood in any form or shape 😛

EDIT: so to clarify, bo3 means best of 3, so the results can be as follows:

3:0 (3 maps played)
3:1 (4 maps played)
3:2 (5 maps played)

When it comes to CS:GO bullex is wrong. I’ve seen matches labeled as best of 2, and I don’t understand how that works.

Best of 1 means they play a single map. Which ever team wins that map wins the match.

Best of 3 means they play at most three maps. Which ever team wins two maps wins the match.

They go from a map pool of 7 maps to the 3 maps that will be played during the course of the match.

Best of 2 allows for there to be a tie. Two maps are played. If one team wins both maps they are the winner and the other team is the loser. Otherwise if they split, each team wins one map, then it is a tie.

Мы все знаем слово best в значении «лучший», но не все знают, что это слово также может выступать в роли других частей речи, а также участвует во многих английских идиомах.

В качестве глагола to best означает «взять верх на кем-то, нанести поражение, обхитрить, провести»:
• Why do you always best me in running? – Почему ты всегда обгоняешь меня?

Best может быть существительным и означать «самое лучшее»:
• I want only the best for you – я хочу только лучшего для тебя

В качестве наречия best определяет глагол и означает «лучше всего, наилучшим образом».

Сколько лет знаю это слово «best», сотни, если не тысячу раз смотрел на него в текстах, в тестах, но даже и представить себе не мог насколько оно многогранно.
